Sports: Bad Blood: Athletes’ parents losing their cool
The Florida High School Athletic Association started tracking incidents involving spectators this season and reported about 50 ejections. Nationwide, incidents of violence among youth sports quadrupled between 2000 and 2005, according to the National Alliance for Youth Sports.
It’s been seeming to me for a while now that youth sports “incidents” have been on the rise of late. According to this, they actually have been!

Schuylkill man charged in deadly fight : The Morning Call Online
Enraged at a neighbor who threatened to report his son for playing Little League in the wrong territory, a Schuylkill County man pushed and slugged the older man repeatedly until he collapsed, dying five days later of chest and abdominal injuries, police say.

Pleasanton Weekly : 12-year-old Pleasanton boy competing in Escape From Alcatraz
When more than 1,800 people hit the pavement, climb onto their road bikes and enter the chilly, treacherous waters of San Francisco Bay this Sunday, 12-year-old Nicholas Paulson will be among them.The youngest to compete in the annual Accenture Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, the Pleasanton Middle School sixth-grader says he hopes he’s able to finish the race.
