Coach Snoop

Coach’s sons, the menace of youth sports. By Josh Levin

also: some more commentary

I have nothing to say about this one…. Ok, I have one thing to say: I’d love to see one of the games!

(For the record, maybe Levin is being a little harsh about coaches’ sons….)

According to AP/CBS: A movie by Sony documenting Snoops’s creation of the new league, and titled “Coach Snoop,” is reported to be in the works.

I’m not going to say anything good or bad about the league, but I am willing to compare a couple online gems:

From the AP article:

Snoop told the Los Angeles Times. “We should make it that easy to be involved in football and academics.”

From the “News” section of the SYFL site, from “the Commish” himself:

This week is exactly why I made this league, so kids could have a place 2 shine n be appreciated for something good they do n da hood! It’s so good when its hood!!! The SYFL is on da move! Good week for the Packers…they came to Rowland n put it down the right way… on the field and n da crowd! Tremendous support and definitely great coaching… they coached 2 a very high level. Wanted to let all the chapters know you have made me proud 2 be commissioner! Thank yall for another fantastic week of SYFL football!!!! Week 7 is gonna be just as big with some key matchups for the playoffs. It’s almost playoff time, so step ya game up! –The Commish

Just for fun, join the league!
